Booster, the EnglishAttack bulldog

Booster, teaching you English

About the project

CLIENT: ENTERTAINMENT LEARNING (France)

DATE: 2010-2011

PROJECT BIO: WEB ILLUSTRATION, GAME ILLUSTRATION

Drawing Booster was the first task I was given by Frederic Tibout and Paul Maglione, the managers of Entertainment Learning. Booster - a grumpy, bluish English (sic !) Bulldog who's assisting you throughout the whole learning process on EnglishAttack!.com, is also a true workaholic. I cannot recall how many instances I've designed for this guy: sad student, happy pilot, serious explorer, grupmy santa, lost sherlock holmes, captain, skater, proud mexican sombrerro owner and the saga is not ended yet...

English Attack! is a site designed to make learning the English language a fun, social experience. The service uses movie clips, music and games as part of a fresh approach to language learning. The company behind the site, France-based Entertainment Learning, believes that many online English language learning methods take an “Abstract and linear” approach. By comparison, English Attack! focuses on immersion and motivation. English-Attack! is available to use, adapted for 20 different languages (excerpt from TheNextWeb.com)

English Attack! is the world’s first 100% entertainment-focused online resource for helping people around the world improve their English language skills. It was created by media and entertainment executives who now work in English Language Teaching and see huge potential in a totally different approach to learning through online entertainment platforms.

The site creates real innovation in English language learning by promoting discovery and learner autonomy instead of the traditional linear lesson based method; and focusing on "learning by doing." Our approach uses short-session online entertainment to encourage frequent digital immersion in real everyday English, with fresh content published daily. Join a worldwide community of learners of English with whom you can make friends, start discussions, and use what you learn.
